- RANDALL,
- Carol P.
- (Age 57)
- For the past seven and a half years Carol Randall put up the fight of her life but on March 7, 2010 she peacefully passed away surrounded by her family and friends. Carol was born on June 13, 1952 in Spokane,
- Washington. She attended Lewis and Clark High School and graduated from Washington State University after several intermediate false starts at Whitworth University and the University of Puget Sound.
- In 1978 she met her husband, Clay Randall, after being set up on a blind date by Clay's brother, Gary. Clay knew right away that she was no ordinary woman, as she spent most of the date eavesdropping on the table next to her. And Carol claimed it was love at first sight despite the piece of floss trailing from Clay's shoe. They were married soon after in February of 1979 and enjoyed 31 wonderful years together.
- In 1981 Carol and Clay welcomed their first daughter, Katey. Soon after, they moved to New York for a year where Clay attended New York University and Carol and Katey spent many afternoons exploring the city and fending off cockroaches.
- In 1986, their second daughter, Jamie was born. Carol quickly began to gain popularity with the children around the neighborhood for her ability to entertain, inspire and problem solve. Although, technically, she only had two daughters, Carol was known as "other mother" to dozens of children.
- Carol loved to spend time at her lake home in Coeur d' Alene where countless memories were made. She also enjoyed playing tennis, drinking margaritas with the "Ya-Yas," entertaining, and traveling to New York with Clay.
- Carol was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Porter Sr.; her father-in-law, Lester Randall and her mother-in-law, Clara Randall. She is survived by her husband, Clay Randall; daughters, Katey Treloar and Jamie Randall; mother, Ellen Porter; brothers, Thomas Porter Jr. and Mark Porter and sister, Susie Porter.
- Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be sent to Hospice of Spokane or Cancer Care Northwest.
