- Melinda "Lynnie" Phelps was called home following a courageous battle with cancer on January 13th, 2010. She was surrounded by family and her dear friend Robbie. Melinda was born in Pullman, WA August 10th, 1957 to parents Leon and Frances (Becker) Mayfield. Melinda is survived by her
- husband Gregory Phelps,
- three daughters, Jenny (Brian) Woodard, (grandson Noah Mayfield), Jennifer Chapman and Joleine (Mike) Sigler. Her granddaughter Morgan Sigler will be welcomed into this world any day. She is also survived by five sisters & a brother; Connie Heatherly, Becky Yearout (John), Donna Mackey, Wendy (Kelly) Cook, Lisa (Dave) Zimmerman, and Donald (Denise) Mayfield, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and even great-great nieces/nephews. She leaves behind an extended family of countless friends. Melinda possessed an unbreakable loyalty to her family. She loved seeing the country with her husband on their Harley Davidson. Her passion was living life. She loved Native American culture and collecting Native American artwork. Melinda was the life of any event with her ever present sense of humor. She never failed to appreciate the beauty of this world and loved the sunset, lightening storms & camping. She will be deeply missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Memorial services will be held January 23rd at the Medical Lake City Hall Auditorium, 124 S. Lefevre St. Medical Lake, WA 99022, between 11am-4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Spokane.
