Donald Lacey Burrell died suddenly on November 19, 2009. He was 72 years old. Don was born on April 10, 1937 in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1956. After graduating he served

as a proud Marine; he also worked for Pepsi Cola and retired after 31 years with the company. He was a member of Teamster's Local #582. Throughout Don's life, photography was his passion. He wrote, "Most of my work is spontaneous and unplanned. I like to find an interesting place and let the light and my eyes lead me to a subject. Then I ask myself "what if" I were to do that." Don specialized in nature photography and landscapes, and the enduring beauty of his work is his legacy. He was also a die hard Gonzaga basketball fan, and he will be loved and missed greatly by his family. He is survived by his sister Patricia DeLauder and her husband John, his nieces Lisa Winslett and her husband Tim, Meagan Clemmens and her husband Will, his grandniece Danielle Thoma, and various cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Agnes and Raymond Burrell. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 10:30 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 505 W. St. Thomas More Way, Spokane. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gonzaga Prep Fair Share Program, 1224 E.
