on November 11, 1917 to

Sophie and Friedrich Meyers, German immigrants. She remembers riding a horse to a rural schoolhouse where

she could only speak German. Vi played center for Oklahoma State Women's Basketball team in 1935. During WWII, she was a teletype operator in New Jersey. She met and married Glenn R. Cusick during the war on November 18, 1943. Her first child Beverly was born on October 17, 1946, followed by Gary on November 13, 1949. She had three grandchildren, Dan Kemano,Michael Cusick and Alex Cusick. A wonderful woman who inspired strength and will be missed by all. A special thank you to Avalon Care Center for the wonderful care and love you provided to mom. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7307 N. Nevada St.. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
