- PIERCE, James G.
(02/21/1925 - 10/31/2009)
Jim entered into the loving arms of Jesus on October 31, 2009. First of five sons born to James H. and Dora Pierce on February 21, 1925, in Pence, Saskatchewan, Canada. The family moved to the U.S. when he was four. He attended school in Rockford until the 10th grade, when he joined the Navy to fight in the South Pacific during WWII. Jim held many types of jobs during his life, but most years were spent driving heavy road equipment and then home improvement projects after he retired. He had a big heart and would help anyone in need. He was strong and could out-work men many years younger than himself. His selflessness will be missed by many. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, LeeAnn, Rockford; his son Michael Pierce, Spokane; daughters Deborah Andrews (Dean) Otis Orchards and Kathrynn Bryant, Spokane Valley; grandchildren Denise, Jennifer (Darin), Jamie (Jami), PJ and Noah; ten great-grandchildren; brother Harold, Rockford and Kenneth, Spokane; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Vernon and Lee, half-sister Marie and nephew Kent. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, November 8th at the Spokane Valley Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1601 S. Sullivan, Spokane Valley. Interment is at Spokane Memorial Gardens
