Elaine was one of nine children born in Endicott, WA. to Alva and Gertrude Fountain. She moved to

Spokane in her early twenties there until 1955,

when she and her husband Royce moved to a ranch in Cheney. They lived there until retirement when they purchased property in Port Ludlow, WA where they built a home.

Elaine worked for many years as a bookkeeper for various employers, the last being Catholic Family Services, which she enjoyed very much. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband Royce Thornburg, who was a detective with the SPD. She is survived by her daughter, Marcine Christner, at home, her grandson Todd Christner of Livermore, CA., her son Errol Poffenroth, her brother Gerald Fountain of Sun Lakes, AZ. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elaine's ashes will be placed next to her beloved Royce per her request in the Spring with family and friends in attendance at Spokane Memorial Gardens. She was loved and she will be missed.
