- KEMPE, Sharon Lea
- Spokane, Washington
- (Age 62)
- Sharon was called home by the Lord on December 23, 2007. For the past nine years she had courageously battled the neurological disease Ataxia. This illness was unexpectedly complicated in the last year by an aggressive form of Pancreatic Cancer, which eventually proved fatal. Thankfully, her last days were spent in the compassionate, supportive, comforting and caring setting of the amazing and wonderful Hospice House. May Sharon rest in peace through eternity in Jesus' arms. She was born in Billings, MT on May 28, 1945 to Monte and Betty Annear. Sharon was raised in a very loving ranching environment in the beautiful greater Whitefish, MT area. After graduation from Whitefish High, she attended business college in Great Falls, MT. Sharon moved to Spokane in 1970, working in the restaurant and travel industries for many years. Sharon had a deep love and devotion to animals, so it was only natural that she became a life member and very strong supporter of both the local and national Humane Societies. Prior to her illnesses she was an avid golfer and belonged to both the Wandermere and Deer Park Women's Golf Clubs, along with the Deer Park Eagles. She is survived by Willard (Will) Kempe, her husband of 26 years; a son, Lonnie (Shannon) Baker of Olympia, WA; mother Betty Kinniburgh of Kalispell, MT; sister Debbie (Steve) Eayrs, of Homer, AK; brother Harry Annear of Livingston, MT; two grandchildren, Sylvia and Sydney Baker; a niece, Kali (Steve) Macalino; nephew Monte (Melanie) Annear; numerous cousins; her beloved Shih Tzu dog, Topaz; and close friend Patty Selden. In accordance with her last wishes, no formal or informal service will be held. It is suggested that any memorial contributions be made to either Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur St., Spokane, WA 99202, or the Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana St., Spokane, WA 99217.
