JERRY LEE BLACKFORD
April 9, 1938 - March 5, 2009

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever
believes in him should not perish
but have eternal life.

Dad, it has been a very long
sad year without you. I miss you
so much, and hold close to my
memories of you. I hope you like our memorial for you. Hey, did you get to smoke that camel yet?

I often will have one of your
phrases enter my mind; "Who it is," "Use your damn brain," "Pull my finger," "Give you a dollar, if you rub my feet." I would give
anything just to hear those words again. Phil misses the early
morning phone calls.

I asked for you to send me a sign, Thanks Dad, but you didn't need
to whistle through the toilet…
a simple whistle would have
been fine.

Your great granddaughters are
getting big, Peyton talks about her Grandpa "Jury" and Molly has the same toothless smile just
like yours.

Dad, I think about you everyday, please keep watching over us.

Love you so very much.

Your daughter Gigi

Joseph Edward Nestor
July 20, 1946 - October 26, 2009

Joe was born in Morgantown, West
Virginia to Raymond and Betty Nestor on July 20, 1946. He
graduated from high school in Lorrain, OH in 1964 and joined the Air Force during the Viet Nam Era. He was stationed in Othello, WA, where he met his bride,
Linda. He was then stationed in various locations, including The
Philippines, before settling back in Lorrain, where he was a police officer. The family eventually moved to Spokane in 1977. Joe was an avid drag racer, both
working and racing at Spokane
Raceway Park for many years. He is fondly remembered for his dry wit and quirky sense of humor. His favorite line was, "Honey, it followed me home, can I keep it?" It didn't matter if "it" was a
rear-engine dragster, tools, or a cat. He lost his valiant battle with cancer on October 26, 2009.

Joe is survived by his bride of 43 years, Linda; sons David and
Kenneth, all of Spokane;
grandsons Jamison of
Montana and Mason of Spokane; his brother Dave of Kentucky; as well as numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

His family would like to invite all his friends to a celebration of his life on his favorite day of the year, the first day of Spring, March 20, 2010. We will gather at The Venue, 6416 N.
Cincinnati, from 3 to 5 pm.

RANDALL,
Carol P.
(Age 57)

For the past seven and a half years Carol Randall put up the fight of her life but on March 7, 2010 she peacefully passed away surrounded by her family and friends. Carol was born on June 13, 1952 in Spokane,
Washington. She attended Lewis and Clark High School and graduated from Washington State University after several intermediate false starts at Whitworth University and the University of Puget Sound.
In 1978 she met her husband, Clay Randall, after being set up on a blind date by Clay's brother, Gary. Clay knew right away that she was no ordinary woman, as she spent most of the date eavesdropping on the table next to her. And Carol claimed it was love at first sight despite the piece of floss trailing from Clay's shoe. They were married soon after in February of 1979 and enjoyed 31 wonderful years together.
In 1981 Carol and Clay welcomed their first daughter, Katey. Soon after, they moved to New York for a year where Clay attended New York University and Carol and Katey spent many afternoons exploring the city and fending off cockroaches.
In 1986, their second daughter, Jamie was born. Carol quickly began to gain popularity with the children around the neighborhood for her ability to entertain, inspire and problem solve. Although, technically, she only had two daughters, Carol was known as "other mother" to dozens of children.
Carol loved to spend time at her lake home in Coeur d' Alene where countless memories were made. She also enjoyed playing tennis, drinking margaritas with the "Ya-Yas," entertaining, and traveling to New York with Clay.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Porter Sr.; her father-in-law, Lester Randall and her mother-in-law, Clara Randall. She is survived by her husband, Clay Randall; daughters, Katey Treloar and Jamie Randall; mother, Ellen Porter; brothers, Thomas Porter Jr. and Mark Porter and sister, Susie Porter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be sent to Hospice of Spokane or Cancer Care Northwest. Please visit Carol's memorial and leave a condolence at: www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com Arrangements entrusted to:

STEVENS,
Albert R.

Albert R. Steve "Al" was born July 2, 1928 in Spokane, Washington and passed away March 9, 2010 at the age of 81. Al was
preceded in death by his
parents and one brother Clewley Stevens, and a
former wife Mae Sciaccotti.
Al grew up in the Hillyard
area, graduated from Rogers High and then attended Washington State College (now University) in Pullman for three years. With the Korean War in full swing, Al was asked to join the U.S. Army and he spent the next two years in the Military and was discharged as a Tech Sergeant having earned the Combat Infantrymen's Badge, Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Star and a Letter of Commendation from the Commanding General 9th Infantry Regiment. Upon completing his tour of military duty, he returned stateside, moved to Ellensburg, and attended Central Washington State College (now a University) graduating with a B.A. Music Education Degree. While attending college, Al worked part-time for the Antlers Hotel in Ellensburg where Al's hard work greatly impressed the owners of the Hotel! Also, while in college, he met Janice Schwartz and they were married in 1958. From this marriage, two daughters were born; namely, Tonie and Laura Stevens. By this time, Al and Janice had moved to Seattle where Al had a music teaching position at Highline Jr. High School. During the summers, Al attended summer school in Ellensburg earning his Masters Degree in Administration. After several years in Seattle, he and his family moved to Ellensburg to take advantage of an opportunity to become the owners of the Antler's Hotel. They were proud owners of the Hotel for three years until an accidental fire destroyed the Hotel and Al found the need for other employment. He and Janice then purchased the Y Grill, Inc and operated this restaurant for the next four years -- Janice being the waitress and Al the cook! However; Al was still not happy, particularly with the 9-5 job, so he started buying "fixer up" properties then selling them. He enjoyed property management work and continued as a "Self Employed Landlord" for the balance of his career.
Over the years, Al received many awards and recognitions for his involvement in civic activities both in Ellensburg and in Spokane. Al had a unique sense of humor and was noted for always having a ready repertoire of jokes! He loved to sing and was a member of the Millwood Presbyterian Church choir and a Deacon. One of the highlights of Al's life was his membership in Rotary both in Ellensburg and with the Spokane Valley Rotary. Al was President of the Ellensburg Club 1974-1975 and was #5060 District Governor's Area Representative 1976-1978. Al joined Spokane Valley Rotary in 1989 and was President during the 1991-1992 year. During this time, Al had perfect attendance for 43 years and established the "Albert R. Stevens Scholarship Fund" to award a yearly music scholarship to a deserving Rogers High School student or a student from any of the Valley High School.
Al is survived by his daughters Tonie Lee and Laura Lee Stevens, Janice Stevens, Loretta and Rex Smith and other family members, Michael (Teresa) Sciaccotti, Jim Sciaccotti, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Millwood Presbyterian Church, 3223 N. Marguerite Rd, Spokane on Friday March 12, 2010 at 3:30 P.M. Refreshments to follow. In liew of flowers, donations can be made to the Spokane Valley Rotary Charitable Trust for the Albert R. Stevens Scholarship Fund.
